Course Overview

World History

The study of World History is designed to help create more background knowledge about the history of the world.  This course will help the student to understand more in depth why countries today developed the way they did.  In this course we will include the effect that other countries and peoples had on the shaping of America.

You will need notebook paper, a pen (blue or black), a red pen, dividers, and a binder every day.  Please be prepared to start class with your materials in your seat when the bell rings.

Daily grades count for 40% of the grade and major grades for 60%.  At least ten daily grades and three major grades will be given each nine weeks.

Every effort should be made to complete work on time.  A deduction of

Twenty-five points will occur for work turned in one day late, fifty points for two days late, and a zero will be recorded for an assignment that is three days late.

Students will have a test at least every three weeks to assess progress.  All students will also be required to bring and keep up with a notebook which will be a major grade every nine weeks.

If you miss class, it is your responsibility to get the assignments.  If you miss class due to a school activity get your assignments before you are absent.

If you create a problem in this class, I will conference with you.  Next, I will refer you to the assistant principal.  No warning is given for level two and level three offenses.
